In today's world, attention is currency. As artists grow their audiences, they also look to grow and expand their wealth. Starting a clothing brand has proven itself to be one of the most common ways to not only do that but also spread your message and connect with your super fans. This also accounts to tour and album merch, although I would argue there is a difference between the two.
NARCISSIST - PLAYBOI CARTI
YEEZY - KANYE WEST
NUWO - BRENT FAIYAZ
GOLF WANG - TYLER THE CREATOR
MAINS - SKEPTA
SYNA WORLD - CENTRAL CEE
SPIDER - YOUNG THUG
BBC / ICE CREAM - PHARRELL WILLIAMS
Fashion and music have always had that sibling-like relationship and in an age where fashion and style are cornerstone elements of society, it's no surprise that more and more artists are seemingly evolving from simply selling merch to developing clothing brands that represent their image.
Honourable mentions go to @travisscott (although it's more of a label) and a lot of artists on the UK side. These include @fredo , who officially launched @pglondon this week, @centralcee who is yet to launch @synaworld , Jhus (@theuglygram) with @theugliest , @thebugzymalone with @_b.malone_ and @santandave with @longlivepsycho.
Let me know what artists I missed out on
