I've always been a proponent of brands taking pride in their visual presentation by ensuring their imagery, video social media etc are on point but this also extends to the website which can be neglected a lot of the times.
Now don’t get me wrong, a simple site with a smooth user experience is king and that should be prioritised, but if you’re able to have that as a foundation with a layer of creativity above it, it just takes your brand that little bit further. It's a chance to bring your audience into your world where they get to know your brand better. Colours, graphics, layouts, ecom photography, animations, sound and more are a few things I've seen brands use to make standout websites.
Check some of these on desktop as they look even better or put me on to new great sites.
