MSCHF is a company that loves the spotlight as it seems they make weekly headlines dropping pieces that posses a sense of irony, innovation and satire .
Their latest viral hit is an ATM that ranks users by the amount of money in their bank accounts.
I generally see them more as social experiment, rather than a brand. This makes sense as they refer to themselves as a “Brooklyn based Art Collective” .
A flick through their website shows a myriad of more outlandish products AND services. (P.s Their website is one of the best I’ve seen)
With all that being said, @mschf are one of the most polarising figures in the creative industry leaving people often divided with their antics. It’s clear they don’t fear stirring up controversy which is not only exciting, but also refreshing as that’s what all the creative industry should be all about.
Nonetheless here are a few of MSCHF's outlandish drops...
THE TAP3'S
Released almost a year after receiving a lawsuit for another shoe, MSCHF drop a lawsuit proof sneaker covered in mschf tape. While the shoes seems to replicate the world most popular shoe, the Air Force 1, Daniel Greenberg reassured the shoes are fully original stating they "have a 100% original insole, upper sole, everything" in an interview with HIGHSNOBIETY.
THE GOBSTOMPER'S
While people stay focused on keeping their sneakers clean, MSCHF designed this shoes for the sole purpose of fucking them up. With every wear and tear, the shoe reveals new layers of colour resembling the iconic gobstopper sweets.
THE SOUR EDITION
THE AC1 BOOT
Oh you broke your foot? don't worry, MSCHF got you covered. Now you can drip and recover comfortably with MSCHF's boot inspired by medical boots.
THE WAVY BABY
This was a shoe in collaboration with Tyga making him the face of marketing for the campaign. This was one of many of their products that faced lawsuits. The shoe puts a curvy silhouette to the vans old skools.
MORE WAVY SILHOUETTES ON OTHER SNEAKERS
THE SUPER NORMAL
With its ironic name, this shoe is everything but normal. This shoe recalls the wavy design from the wavy baby however the wave is embedded within the shoe's details rather than the shoe overall.
THE WHOLESALE HAT
While the product isn't anything outlandish, the way it was sold definitely serves a talking point. 1000 hat's were produced and had to be bought all by one person. It eventually sold in bulk for $8000.
THE AT ALL COSTS T
Whatever price you pay for the T, is what you wore. You could pay between $1 - $500 for the T and that same amount would be put inside the pocket bag.
