PEOPLE JUST WANT COMMUNITY

A huge aspect in the current landscape of marketing is the element of community. Whether it's brotherhood, sisterhood, friends, family, clubs etc people just want a sense of belonging and people want to get involved in something.

It's been increasingly embraced and sought after since the pandemic had us isolated and separated from loved ones and now the idea of community building and involvement is more relevant than ever. Events, run clubs, active engagement and more, todays brands are figuring out different ways to get people actively engaged with their brands on a deeper level and on a physical level. London is hot for this right now, no one is doing it like them. The core ethos of a lot of London based brands is that element of community and a sense of belonging.

The value of community lies in the reassurance and support it gives people. If you’re a creative, especially a brand owner you can attest to this. It can be a lonely journey working independently. Not to mention when things can go wrong or get difficult, it's hard to find that moral support to keep you going. That's why I think these online communities are vital and important to the scene.

I think a lot of creatives could benefit from having a community dedicated to them and their journeys where they get that sense of belonging as well as the support needed within their own journeys. What do you think?
