THE UK IS FINALLY BRIDGING CULTURAL GAPS

The UK has more cultural pull than ever.

From a time when the US was much less accepting of what the UK had going on, to now, the tables have turned completely. There has never been a better time for the UK creative scene to shine.

Just recently, Complex released their streetwear power rankings. Seeing Clint there at number 2 and being the only UK based figure is insane to see and an ode to the UK’s overall rising influence. His moves in New York and collab with 21 Savage goes to show how Clint is one of the leaders in this cultural gap being bridged.

When I was out in New York, there were so many americans wearing and showing love to UK brands and culture. Online content across Tiktok and Twitter especially showcases this, from people embracing the UK culture (lingo, dress sense, music, brands etc). I think TikTok has the most impact in terms of culturally bridging borders, way more than other social medias. This change can also be attributed to our music & entertainment acts such as Top Boy, Central Cee and the rising UK music scene.

i’ve seen brands come over to the UK to do shoots and work with with a lot of talent, figures and influencers who are out here. brands from overseas are wanting to bridge into the UK because they see the value.

Europe, Australia and Africa are a few of the locations taking in the UK the most, especially from a influence perspective. to a degree, there’ll always be some level of that love / hate relationship between the UK and US, but i’m just happy we’re in the peak times for UK bridging cultural gaps.
