You’ve heard it before “this space is over saturated” everyone wants to complain about that and think it’s a negative but let me tell you why it could actually be a good thing.
1) It means it’s easier than ever to stand out
If you think everyone is doing the same thing, then good! now you have the opportunity to bring something new to the space. sit back, observe, see what everyone is doing, check the patterns and go your own way. focus on a solid brand dna, think of new design languages, think of ways to brand and market your brand the other way from the norm. and most importantly, don’t rush this process, it takes time to develop a brand of substance and layers.
2) Time will weed out the “mid”
All the brands you consider mid, weak or are too similar to each other will weed themselves out. i see brands come and go every year. natural selection will do its thing and the brands that lack ideas and substance will eventually die out.
3) It’s valuable data
This is actually part of my job, so take this as some game 🤣 use this “saturated market” as data for what to do and what not to do with your brand. study what’s going on and what people are doing. study what consumers want and how they’re reacting , then go the other way. one of the biggest things you can invest your time in is studying your niche / space.
I touched on this a little in another post but yeah social media has lowered to barrier to entry for people to join any space they’d like. but there’s no point putting your energy and focus on that because it doesn’t reverse that. that time and energy is better directed capitalising off that the “saturation”
